Local author releases book about her racing experiences

De Luz resident Gayle Kott holds a copy of her new book, Diary of a Racer's Wife.

DE LUZ – Have you ever longed for adventure? That was the wish of Gayle Kott, author of the recently released book, "Diary of a Racer's Wife."

For over 25 years, adventure is what she got. Kott tells the story of a life spent at various amateur racing venues with her husband Fritz and their four sons.

Meeting at the Bonneville Salt Flats in the mid-1980s Fritz and Gayle became an inseparable team, both on and off the race course. Their adventures took them from the glaring white Salt Flats and the California desert to the highways of Mexico to the high banks of Daytona International Spee...
