The fire was located along Rock Mountain Drive near Sandia Creek Drive, just south of the Riverside County line and was estimated at 25-30 acres by 4:30 p.m. Saturday, a little more than an hour after it was first reported. It quickly spread to more than 200 acres before firefighters were able to stop its forward spread by about 7:15 p.m. Saturday.

Evacuation orders for around 100 homes were put in place Saturday, but lifted as of 6 p.m. Sunday, Cal Fire Capt. Issac Sanchez said. The fire has not caused any structural damage or injuries, but the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
