Bonsall Woman's Club meeting is Sept. 6

FALLBROOK – The Bonsall Woman's Club will have its first meeting of the 2018-2019 year, 9 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 6.

Many local charitable organizations and schools have profited over the years from the fundraising activities put on by club members.

As such, their first meeting will feature the Canine Companions for Independence. The nonprofit organization enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs at no charge to the recipient.

During the program portion of the meeting, members will meet one of the trainers and their dog. The trainer will inform the audience how the dogs are bred, raised and trained to be the ears, hands and legs of their human partners.

The meeting will be held in the Mediterranean-style club house at The Golf Club of California, 3742 Flowerwood Lane, in Fallbrook. The doors open 9 a.m. The business portion of the meeting begins 10 a.m. with the Canine Companions for Independence program following.

Lunch will consist of a panko parmesan crusted chicken with sherry cream, rice pilaf and a Wedgewood vinaigrette salad. Bread and butter will also be served. Coffee and tea will be available for all attendees.
