Training for alcohol servers offered Aug. 23

FALLBROOK – Fallbrook Youth Advocacy Coalition, a local youth group, is holding its next event on Thursday, Aug. 23. They are partnering with the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce to present a free L.E.A.D Training for people who sell or serve alcohol at local businesses. This training is approved by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control and will cover topics such as identification verification procedures, state alcohol laws, and ways to tell intoxicated customers they can’t have any more drinks.

The group wants to help prepare and educate those who sell or serve alcohol, in order to keep the community safe. They encourage local restaurants and liquor stores to send their employees to this free training.

The coalition's goal is to promote a safe and healthy lifestyle and reduce binge and underage drinking. Members work alongside local Sheriff’s deputies and community groups whose goals are similar to theirs.

The Aug. 23 training event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the community room at Fallbrook Library at 124 S. Mission Road. Advance registration is required. To register, go to http://www.abc.ca.gov/ and click on “LEAD Training.”
