Community Collaborative for Health and Wellness meeting open to public

FALLBROOK – The August meeting of the Fallbrook Community Collaborative for Health and Wellness (CCHW) will feature Geri Schmotzer, speaking about cervical cancer and the program “Acepta: Cervical Cancer Prevention for Latinas.” The CCHW will meet Monday, Aug. 20, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Fallbrook Public Utility District (FPUD) board room, 990 E. Mission Road.

Schmotzer is a local nurse who has received grant funding for this special project. The topic is of particular concern because the rate of cervical cancer in Hispanic women is 44 percent higher than non-Hispanic white women...
