Galaxy of Glass returns to Fallbrook Art Center

FALLBROOK – Galaxy of Glass celebrates its 21st year as one of the Fallbrook Art Center's longest running annual shows, and it continues to attract new artists eager to participate as well as collectors and art appreciators alike. The show runs Sept. 9 through Oct. 21.

Presented in the center's main exhibition space, The Janice Griffiths Gallery, the show features almost 400 pieces of original glass art created by 23 Southern California glass artists. This year seven new artists have been added to the show. The artworks are created using a variety of processes including hot blown, cast, fused, slumped, carved and assembled. The shop section of the show features a wide variety of glass jewelry, functional ware, unique blown glass tumblers, and shot glasses, glass mosaics, paperweights, perfumers, oil lamps, vases, animal figures and much more.

Galaxy of Glass offers visitors a wonderful opportunity to experience fine art glass in a beautiful gallery setting affording them the ability to begin or expand their collection. As with all their presentations, sponsors make these exhibitions possible.

In addition to the Galaxy of Glass, visitors will enjoy "Rural Scenes, Rural Routes," featuring original paintings by Ellen Cramer in The Salon and The Rosalie and Spencer Lehmann galleries. This show runs Sept. 5 through Oct. 31.

Galaxy's opening reception is Saturday, Sept. 8, 5-7 p.m. The artists will be in attendance, and refreshments will be served. The reception is free to premier- and Friends-level members, guild members, and center patrons; admission for others is $10.

Consider joining the Art Center as a premier level member and enjoy the reception for free. The show continues daily through Oct. 21, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays, noon to 3 p.m. Admission is free to all members, center patrons, active military, those under 18 and students with ID.
