Moon rises in Fallbrook with Trio Celeste

FALLBROOK – Fallbrook Music Society continues its Classical Sundays Concert Series with Trio Celeste 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 23, at the Fallbrook Public Library. The concert is free to the general public, and no tickets are required. Trio Celeste is considered one of the most vibrant chamber music ensembles on the classical music scene today.

Currently ensemble-in-residence at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts at University of California Irvine, Trio Celeste also serves as directors of the acclaimed arts organization Chamber Music OC. Their concert schedule spans New York's Carnegie Hall to the Seoul Arts Center in South Korea to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and their first album debuted at No. 5 on iTunes for "Best Seller New Release."

"I am especially excited for this concert as Trio Celeste is young, dynamic and incredibly powerful," Ann Murray, executive director of Fallbrook Music Society, said. "They will change the way people see classical music."

Inspired after their first meeting in New York City where a rare celestial occurrence – the largest harvest moon in two decades – marked the beginning of their tenure together, its members include cellist Ross Gasworth, Ukrainian born violinist, Iryna Krechkovsky and pianist Kevin Kwan Loucks. Winners of the prestigious Beverly Hills Auditions and the recipients of the 2017 Emerging Artist Award from Arts Orange County, Trio Celeste has also served as artists-in-residence at The Grand Canyon National Park.

The Sunday, Sept. 23 program features the only piano trio ever written by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Piano Trio in A minor, Op. 50, a composition that he dedicated to his most important personal and professional mentor.

"Even for our most seasoned classical music enthusiasts, this might be a first," Murray said. "Tchaikovsky's Trio is performed so rarely, this concert delivers something completely new – even for our most loyal supporters."

The program also features selections from Astor Piazzolla's "Four Seasons of Buenos Aires."

The program preview starts 2:30 p.m., and a reception will immediately follow the concert on the Poet's Patio. More information is available through http://www.FallbrookMusicSociety.org.
