LA artists in Latino exhibition at Fallbrook Library

FALLBROOK – The Friends of the Fallbrook Library is hosting a new art exhibition titled “Sanctuary,” which will be on display through Nov. 2.

The exhibition artists address the issue of finding a safe place – a sanctuary – in these times when violence and fear threatens people in many parts of the world. Artists from around Los Angeles are featured in the show.

The organizers for “Sanctuary,” which was shown in Pasadena and Pomona, are Jimmy O’Balles, Mario A. Hernandez and Maria Swett. Daniel Marquez curated the Fallbrook Library exhibition.

Some of the featured artists are Jose Antonio Aguirre, Eric Almanza, Joe Bravo, Tito Delgado, Ricardo Duffy, Margaret Garcia, Wayne Healy, Mario Hernandez, Sergio Hernandez, Peter Hess, Jose Lozano, Pola Lopez, Poli Marichal, Rick Ortega, Mario Trillo, Arturo Urista and Magu. An accompanying sculpture exhibition by Tijuana artist Gilberto Valdez will also be on display.

The library will host a reception Friday, Oct. 19, 6-9 p.m., providing an opportunity to meet the artists. Musica Sin Fronteras will perform Latin American music, and appetizer bites will be provided. The event is free and open to the public. The library is located at 124 S. Mission Road in Fallbrook.
