SonRise hosts family film festival Sept. 22

FALLBROOK – What if there was an awards night and no awards were presented? What if it was a faux awards night designed solely to entertain? Those who attend this year's

SonRise Christian Fellowship Fallbrook Family Film Festival (of shorts) will be able to testify that it is indeed possible for such a friendly event to exist.

Instead of seeing clips or listening to a drone of acceptance speeches, people attending SonRise's film festival will see winning short videos (six-minutes-or-less) in their entirety. Interspersed will be some show tunes and movie themes performed live by Ann Fredericks, Greg Coppock, John Redford and some special guests. The emcees have promised to tie all this together into another enjoyable evening.

The film festival is free and will take place Saturday, Sept. 22, from 4:08 to 6:03 p.m. (not typos) at SonRise Christian Fellowship, 463 S. Stage Coach Lane. This is the second annual – because the first one was so much fun – faux awards night. There will be a raffle to raise funds for missions.
