Fallbrook Encore Club plans fall festivities

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Encore Club began their social season at the first fall monthly coffee and meeting Sept. 4, catching up with old friends, meeting many new members and having a good time.

Members were able to sign up for upcoming activities, including book club, cooking together and games. Daytime and evening outings include dining together, Happy Diggers gardening group, helping others, mystery adventures, RV campers and walkabout hiking.

Encore Club is a social club serving Fallbrook, Bonsall, Rainbow and DeLuz communities. The members enjoy making new friends, building lasting friendships and supporting each other in good times and in challenging times.

The club meets the first Tuesday of each month at the United Methodist Church, 1844 Winterhaven Road in Fallbrook. Social time with coffee and refreshments begins 9:30 a.m. with a meeting, 10 a.m.

The next coffee is Oct. 2 and will feature speaker Bobbi Palmer from Fallbrook Regional Health District. She will be sharing about "Blue Zones" benefiting the Fallbrook community. At the November coffee, speaker Jack Wood from the Volunteer Sheriff's department and a member of the planning committee will speak.

This year the Fallbrook Encore Club will present a scarecrow as part of the Fallbrook fall festivities. The scarecrow was created by members Jennifer Freaney and Karen Feyler and will reside in front of the 127 West restaurant on Main Street.

The fall Halloween Gathering Potluck Dinner will be held Saturday, Oct. 27, 5 p.m. Costumes are encouraged, though not required, and could receive a prize for best costume.
