Encore Club begins a new season

FALLBROOK – Fallbrook Encore Club will move their regular monthly meetings to a new location, starting May 7. The Fallbrook Masonic Center offers a new venue for Fallbrook gatherings and events, and Encore Club will be one of the first tenants.

The Masonic Hall is undergoing improvements and redecorating. More information is available by contacting them at [email protected] or by calling (760) 282-4118. Their website is http://www.fallbrookfreemason.org.

Encore Club is a social club with membership from the Fallbrook, DeLuz, Rainbow and Bonsall areas. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month, except during the summer break July and August. The next meeting will be at the Masonic Center, located at 203 Rocky Crest Road in Fallbrook. Social time begins at 9:30 a.m., and the meeting starts at 10 a.m.

New members are welcomed at any time. Interested parties may drop in at the meeting to get acquainted or contact membership chairs Bea Valverde at [email protected] or Bobbi Bixby (562) 673-1250. The website is http://www.fallbrookencoreclub.com.

The speaker May 7 will be Pat Longwell from "Simply Scarves." Longwell is back by popular demand and will be demonstrating her magic with scarves. Upcoming special events include the "Fly-Up Luncheon" May 15 at the Fallbrook Woman's Club, catered by Trupiano's. About 30 new members will be received as they "fly-up" from Newcomer's Club, a sister organization.

The traditional end of year party will be a "Summer Soiree," June 8, at member's homes. In the fall, the Newcore RV Club planned a trip to the KOA Ventura Ranch in Santa Paula. They expect to visit the Reagan Library, take a Channel Islands boat trip and visit the towns of Ventura and Ojai.

The club offers many and varied activities from which to choose. Each month includes new possibilities, from games or dining out to trips such as "Mystery Adventures" or "GO." The new "GO" activity held in April was planned and hosted by Carol Johnson.

"Treasures of Fallbrook" was a walking tour of local merchants in the Downtown area. About 18 ladies got acquainted with just a bit of what Fallbrook has to offer and looked for a special "treasure" each merchant had hidden for them to find. The outing ended with a luncheon at Cafe de Artistes.

In May those joining the "GO" activity will head to San Juan Capistrano to tour the Mission. Meetings will not be held in the summer, but some individual activities, such as "GO," continue to be available for those who want to participate.
