McStay family murder trial in the hands of jury now

A jury of 12 people has begun deliberations to decide whether the state of California proved its case in the capital murder trial of Charles "Chase" Merritt accused of killing a Fallbrook family of four in February 2010.

During the start of the first full day of jury deliberations Monday, June 3, a report by the Press-Enterprise indicated that there have been allegations of jury tampering by the defense.

Several reports indicated that a man named Robert Wallace, who has been at the trial frequently and is working on a book and with a documentary film crew, approached two alternate jurors....
