The DePatie Melt to blend jazz, rock, reggae and country music

FALLBROOK – Los Angeles session and touring guitarist John DePatie will play in concert with The DePatie Melt for one night only, Saturday, June 29, presented by Fallbrook Mission Theater and Plus Tone Entertainment. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the show from 7-9 p.m.

DePatie has put together an evening of music merging the 1960s California rock scene with jazz, rock and reggae influences and a touch of country to round it out. He and the band will perform songs from his upcoming CD as well as originals by Will Faerber, Don Randi and Jody Bagley. They will also perform some of the audience's favorite songs from the classic rock songbook.

Special guest Don Randi is the legendary pianist, composer and arranger of "The Wrecking Crew," who was instrumental in the creation of the Wall-of-Sound recording techniques with Phil Spector that became known as the L.A. Sound.

The Wrecking Crew played on thousands of recordings since the 60s including, The Beach Boys, The Byrds and Frank Sinatra, Frank Jr. Sinatra and Nancy Sinatra. DePatie was the featured guitarist, and Randi was the pianist and musical director for Nancy Sinatra's World Tour 2005.

Since then, Randi and DePatie have worked together regularly live and in the studio. Randi is the owner of the world famous, Baked Potato, in Los Angeles where DePatie performs regularly with Randi's Quest. They have recorded two CDs together, "Acoustimania" and "Good Jazzy Vibrations," a tribute to the Beach Boys.
