Café Des Artistes to hold Stokes art exhibition

FALLBROOK – Café Des Artistes announced an upcoming artist reception and exhibition for lifelong Fallbrook painter Brett Stokes. Stokes' new work departs from native themes and landscape imagery to focus primarily on abstract expressionism done in acrylics.

"My newer work is to be viewed as using less defined images to illicit a response. A line or colors can be just as powerful as objective or realism," Stokes said.

The reception is July 20, from 4-8 p.m., at Café Des Artistes behind Fallbrook Art Center, on the corner of Main Avenue and Alvarado Street. The event is free of charge.
