Galaxy of Glass Show sparkles through Oct. 20

FALLBROOK – Galaxy of Glass, one of Fallbrook Art Center's longest running and most popular shows, continues to attract new artists eager to participate as well as collectors and art lovers alike.

Presented in the center's main exhibition space, The Janice Griffiths Gallery, the 22nd annual show features over 300 pieces of original glass art created by the 25 Southern California glass artists selected to participate; six are new to the show this year.

Using a myriad processes including hot blown, cast, fused, slumped, carved and assembled, the works run the gamut from large to intimate – variety abounds.

The shop section of the show features jewelry, tumblers, wineglasses, cheese boards, mosaics, paperweights, garden art, vases, animal figures and much more.

In addition to the Galaxy of Glass, visitors will enjoy "Bold Perspectives" in The Salon and Lehmann Galleries, featuring printmaking and paintings by Janet Lee.

The show continues daily through Oct. 20, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m. Admission is free to all members, center patrons, active military, under 18 and students with ID; for others admission is $6.

Now is a good time to take advantage of the new membership special – the admission charge will be credited to the membership fee. For as little as $35 a year, members can enjoy free admission to all of the center's shows.

Fallbrook Art Center will be open late Friday, Oct. 4, until 7 p.m. as part of the Fallbrook Chamber of Commerce's "Fallbrook First Fridays" offering free admission and refreshments.

Founded in 1996, Fallbrook Art Center is one of five projects governed by the Fallbrook Arts Inc. Fallbrook Art Center offers a diverse range of exemplary art exhibitions, educational programs and community outreach events.
