'Rock 2 Reggae' set to return to Fallbrook's Mission Theater

FALLBROOK – The DePatie Melt show "Rock 2 Reggae" will return Nov. 8, to the Mission Theater in Fallbrook for one night, presented by Fallbrook Mission Theater and Plustone Entertainment. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the show runs from 8-10 p.m.

Building on the success of their June show The DePatie Melt will once again treat their audience to a blend of music and musical styles featuring Los Angeles studio guitar master John DePatie and recording legend pianist Don Randi, famous for his work with The Wrecking Crew.

DePatie has put together an evening of music merging the 1960s California rock scene with jazz, rock and reggae influences and a touch of country to round it out. DePatie and the band will perform songs from his upcoming CD as well as originals by Will Faerber, Don Randi and Jody Bagley. They will also perform some of the audience's favorite songs from the classic rock songbook.

As a session musician and member of the Wrecking Crew, Don Randi played on many of the albums and songs that defined the 60s and 70s. When fans hear the Beach Boys, The Righteous Brothers, Buffalo Springfield, The Crystals, The Lovin' Spoonful, The Jackson 5, Ike and Tina Turner, Nancy Sinatra, Petula Clark, Glen Campbell, Linda Ronstadt, Abba to Zappa and dozens more, they are probably listening to Don Randi playing keyboards.

At their show in Fallbrook in June, Randi delighted the audience with stories from his book, "You've heard these Hands."

Randi and DePatie have worked together regularly live and in the studio. Randi is the owner of the world famous, Baked Potato, in Los Angeles where DePatie performs regularly with Randi's Quest. They have recorded two CD's together, "Acoustimania" and "Good Jazzy Vibrations," a tribute to the Beach Boys.

Also appearing in The DePatie Melt will be Jody Bagley, Aaron Bagley, Rachel Eisaman, Will Faerber and Phil Pardell.

The newly renovated Mission Theater is located at 200 N. Main Ave. in Fallbrook. The theater shows vintage movies and hosts events, and with 300 seats for live shows. They serve beer and wine and light catering by the Brooktown Cafe.

General admission tickets are $25 in advance by contacting the box office at (760) 253-8902 or $28 online at http://www.themissiontheater.info.
