Get ready for late-winter pruning

January is time to plan for future roses.

Happy New Year! This month I'm going to help you get ready for the major late-winter pruning that garderners should do in mid- to late-February. I'll provide details on pruning in my February column. Gardeners are welcome to join me for an in-person rose care workshop at Rose Haven Heritage Garden, 30592 Jedediah Smith Road, in Temecula, Saturday, Jan. 25, from 10 a.m. to noon.
