While Ms. Murphy is entitled to her opinions, there are many factual ‘escapes’ in her article. Yes, I’m being polite.

Ms. Murphy makes this statement early on:

The current language approved by the county counsel stated: “Shall this initiative be adopted for the purpose of amending the county general plan to require voter approval through 2038 of any general plan amendments which increase residential density in all areas designated rural and semi-rural, subject to very limited exceptions, permanently prohibit density transfer from higher density parcels to lower density parcels and prohibit the designation of new Specific Plan Areas through 2038?”

This statement and many more are factually incorrect. The language approved by County Counsel Oct. 9, 2018, as balanced and impartial is:

“Shall this initiative be adopted for the purpose of amending the San Diego County General Plan to require voter approval for General Plan amendments that increase residential density for property designated by the General Plan as Semi-Rural or Rural?"

And that’s what’s on the Ballot - Page 20 of 52 in the Sample Ballot.

Please independently verify this statement. Look at the Registrar of Voters Sample ballot at page 20 of 52 at the official County Registrar of Voters website: https://www2.sdcounty.ca.gov/rov/Sample_Ballots/Eng/SB-PR-ENG-105.pdf

Let’s all be polite. Review the facts and make your own opinion.
