Marilyn Ritz Dyal

Longtime resident Marilyn Ritz Dyal passed away July 18, 2020. Born Nov. 20, 1947, in Pennsylvania, Marilyn was a loving and kind wife, mother and grandmother.

Marilyn had an incredible mind and would have made a great professional student. She received her undergraduate degree at Drexel and continued her education with a JD from UCONN and an MBA from Pepperdine.

She married John Howard Dyal Jr in 1967. Their 53 years together were filled with joy. They moved frequently in the early years of their marriage and found their way to Fallbrook in 1987. As part of the local community, Marilyn was an avid member of the Knit Wits and shared her love of both crochet and knitting with the group.

Marilyn had a lifelong love of animals. In addition to sharing her life with many four-legged companions, she was also a big supporter of the San Diego Humane Society. Her idea of a perfect evening was sitting in front of a fire with her family and animals and crocheting while watching a football game.

She is survived by her husband, John Dyal, and their two children, daughter Marianne Dyal and son Clint Dyal. Clint and his wife, Carrie Huntington Dyal, also live in Fallbrook and gave Marilyn two beautiful grandchildren, Taylor and Audrey Dyal. Additionally, she is missed by her latest animal companions: Scout, Chloe, Belle, Patches and Mittens.

Kind acts of charity can be made in her memory to the San Diego Humane Society.
