Estancia Senior Living to provide residents with personalized activity programs

FALLBROOK – Opening in early 2021, Estancia Senior Living is proud to introduce exciting, personalized activity programs as part of their best-in-class services to its residents. A full array of robust social offerings will be available for its future residents to enhance their carefree and independent lifestyle.

The dedicated Life Enrichment Director in conjunction with the Resident Council will plan and develop activity calendars that will be personalized to suit the residents’ passions, culture and personal preferences. Offering residents an active voice in programming, the Resident Council will be comprised of various committees such as dining, fitness, art and music.

The LEC will conduct surveys amongst the resident population through quarterly questionnaires and incorporate their feedback to ensure preferences are incorporated into the plan. As Estancia Senior Living’s leadership team navigates the ongoing crisis all community activities will be conducted in the safest possible manner while creating the best achievable environment where residents will thrive.

“We are so excited to exceed expectations by providing personalized activity programs to our residents with opportunities to live life their own way,” said Beverly McGuirk, executive director of Estancia Senior Living. “Our team has been diligently developing enhanced and exciting programs to encourage socialization, while implementing measures to keep residents as safe as possible.”

Amongst a backdrop of highly appointed living areas nestled in a Mission-style architectural gem, planned activities will encourage socialization and support residents’ physical and psychological needs. Residents will benefit from fitness programs in a modern fitness gym, indulgent visits in the spa and salon, creative art workshops in the art studio, friendly games of bridge and mahjong in the activity room, and movie viewings in a state-of-the-art theater.

Scheduled activities and social events include elegant entertainment with wine and cocktails, live music, educational lectures, and various social outings such as the driving range, air park picnic site, and local museums.

At Estancia Senior Living, there will be activities for older adults with Parkinson’s including a fitness and support program. For seniors with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia, Estancia Senior Living will offer its distinctive dementia care program based on a Montessori methodology: Montessori Moments In Time™.

The goals of MMIT are to enhance living for those with memory impairment by the guidance of the program’s five directional paths and by using validation techniques for communication. Estancia Senior Living has partnered with Eldergrow™ to provide horticulture therapy as part of the activity programming in its memory care community.

Eldergrow™ is a mobile therapeutic sensory garden and indoor therapeutic therapy program that has resulted in benefits among seniors such as increased independence, a sense of purpose and accomplishment, as well as improvements in the sensory, social, physical, cognitive and spiritual domains.

The community’s focus on active living that includes daily engagement and social activities is an important key to support overall wellness among the resident population. The National Institute on Aging has conducted several research studies that show a correlation between social interaction among seniors and their health and well-being. These emotional bonds can lead to healthier lifestyles including being active, eating healthy foods, and ceasing poor health habits such as smoking.
