Giving thanks to the Fallbrook community

I personally would like to thank everyone in our village who helped Fallbrook Scarecrow Days survive and thrive Oct. 1-31, especially the chamber staff which went out of their way to support us.

We must especially thank those businesses who enjoyed our rental crows, complimented us about the silent people, liked flagpole pumpkin heads, a crow skeleton and Village Square Jack Skellington as well as

all the neighbors who jumped on board this year with personal spook- tacular displays.

The chamber and the entire town deserves thanks for pitching in under a tough cloud this year.

In particular, we must thank the new businesses, many who have suffered during the pandemic.

I must single out Evolution Barber Shop and Ms. Amy Villasenor who cut, styled and sprayed Sonia Sotomayor's wig and helped us restore soccer player Megan Rapinoe's second wig, a perfect signature pink, which was stolen after BJ Lane rose to the occasion to fix her face, ruined during a vandal's destruction early in October.

Next year it will be 10 years for Fallbrook Scarecrow Days and most of us can't wait for this one to be in our "rear view mirror." We hope with your help we are able to make Fallbrook Scarecrow Days even bigger and better in 2021.

Thanks for letting us place 87 crows throughout town and expanding our reach further too. We are down just a little from last year against all odds.

Now we all know it does take a village to make things happen. You stepped up in spades so the kids got to see favorite fun characters adorning the streets. The businesses also participated in a Halloween costume parade making many kids full of the spirit of Halloween fun!

Thanks Fallbrook friends, folks and businesses.

This Thanksgiving, we are most thankful for all of you!
