Re: 'Fallbrook business owner concerned about burglaries' [Village News, 12/10/20]

Recently, a local mechanic commented on the crime wave in our town. He had been robbed many times in one year.

If people read the back of our local paper, they would realize how many car, home, and business burglaries there are weekly. I counted six in three days!

The police say they can't be everywhere, not a confidence inspiring response. Tell us what time and where (street).

Most crimes seem to happen on about seven or eight roads, Mission, Main, Alvarado, Elder, Alturas, etc. are favorite crime centers. Also I believe, because of the rather professional break ins, it is a group of about seven or eight pros. Maybe a few street people here and there. What to do?

More cameras (hidden) they are pros, remember. Put out some phony cameras so they think they are hidden from view. More people keeping their eyes open especially at night. Walk the dog a little later at night. Early risers, be alert.

Businesses, maybe a surprise or two for someone breaking in, wink, wink.

Police find the fence; thieves want to cash booty quickly. Watch the internet for quick sales of known stolen goods. If you catch someone, put their picture and name in this paper. They will be watched so much by everyone, they will have to leave town.

Businesses, form a group and hire your own security guards to cruise town in prime locations. They will be accountable to you, no excuses. Fallbrook will no longer be a haven for these weasels.

At least three murders, an 80 year old attacked while sitting on his porch, it has to stop. Trees and mini parks (even those closed because of crime) are nice, but I think there are bigger fish to fry.

Let's all pull together to stop this ethic less society that is becoming so prevalent.
