FALLBROOK – Fallbrook Encore Club is finding new ways to enjoy the holidays together. In December, many members created gingerbread houses to enter in a contest. Winter on "Candy Cane Lane" won first place as a collaboration of three friends.
Other members also shared photos of many of Santa's elves, appearing here and there in their homes or climbing a gingerbread house. Encore Club wishes the community happy holidays and a COVID-19-free New Year. Meanwhile they will continue to enjoy more fun via Zoom with Book Club Monday, Jan. 18, at 10 a.m., Bunco Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 1 p.m., Trivia Mania Thursday, Jan. 21, from 1-3 p.m., and Sip & Paint Thursday, Feb. 11, at 3 p.m.
The next monthly meeting will also be held via Zoom Tuesday, Jan. 5, at 10 a.m. The speaker will be Lenila Batali, founder of D'Vine Path, a commercial vineyard and agricultural business dedicated to providing hands-on training, education and vocational opportunities for special needs adults. She will share more about their goals and their work through a private-public partnership with Fallbrook Union High School District.
Encore club is a social club. New club members are always welcome, drawing from the communities of Fallbrook, De Luz, Rainbow and Bonsall. Those interested should inquire from membership chair, Sherry Drzewicki, 949-751-9748 or visit http://www.fallbrookencoreclub.com. Attend a Zoom monthly meeting or an activity as a guest and learn more about the club and social activities. It is hoped that in-person activities can resume soon, in the coming year.
