Long term closure on East Mission, for at least 8 hours

East Mission is closed due to a vehicle accident at E. Mission and Via Zancas/Macadamia which has disrupted power to about 257 homes in the area. Power is expected to be back up by 8 p.m. tonight

The vehicle accident was reported shortly after 11 a.m. this morning, vehicle vs power pole. When a deputy arrived on scene at 11:13, power lines were down in the roadway. North County Fire was called in; the vehicle is under the telephone pole and they can't get it out.

SDG&E is enroute and a longtime closure of the road is needed to repair the pole.

People are having to turn around at Riverview drive or Hamilton and there is more traffic on Gum Tree Lane. Alternative routes would include Live Oak Park to Reeche up to Stagecoach or Stage coach to Reeche to 395.
