Small spot fire stopped by North County Fire

North County firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a small fire that burned two trees in an area along East Fallbrook Street late Sunday morning.

The fire was reported a little before 11:15 a.m. in the 1200 block of E. Fallbrook Street, according to North County Fire Capt. John Choi. The area is near Zion Lutheran Church and School.

Crews had the fire out within about 15 minutes. It was contained to a 20-foot-by-30-foot spot, Choi said.

He said utility crews were investigating whether nearby power lines were involved. San Diego Gas and Electric was not reporting any unplanned outages in the Fallbrook area as of early Sunday afternoon.
