January 6, 2021: "A date which will live in infamy"

“On Wednesday [Jan. 6], the Washington Times published a story that claimed XRVision ‘used its software to do facial recognition of protesters and matched two Philadelphia Antifa members to two men inside the Senate’” (BuzzFeed.News) XRVision issued an immediate “cease and desist” order because that claim was utterly false. (RawStory.com) The FBI, which is actively pursuing the perpetrators, confirms there’s no evidence of Antifa involvement. (Forbes)

Five people are known dead as a direct result of the assault on our nation’s capitol. You can add those to the growing list of needless deaths directly attributable to Trump.

Dominion Voting Systems, a Toronto-based voting machine company, is seeking $1.3 billion from Trump attorney Sidney Powell for defamation. In the 124-page lawsuit, filed on Friday, Jan. 8 in a Washington, D.C., federal court, Dominion's attorney argues that Powell's “wild accusations” contributed to the dangerous false narrative and grave misinformation that has been widely circulated about the outcome of the election. (Business Insider) Words as well as actions have consequences. Baseless allegations are tantamount to libel and/or slander and can be prosecuted as such.

So, what has Trump done for America’s working class? He has provided talk therapy, with value beyond measure for those susceptible to it –"You can relax now that I’m in charge. You’re special to me. I won’t let you be bullied anymore. I won’t let foreigners take your jobs. Faith will once again take precedence in matters of government – and similar platitudes to provide the promise of certainty in an increasingly uncertain world.

But at some point Trump’s followers will begin to see the enormous disconnect between his words and his actions. What they will realize, but never acknowledge, is that Trump is an inveterate liar – a con man – and probably always has been. Massive voter fraud? One hundred percent lies. Presidency stolen from Trump? One hundred percent lies. “The virus is just going to go away.” Trump’s most pernicious lie.
