Re: 'Where's the truth?' [Village News, Schembri letter, 5/2021]

Letter writer Joe Schembri took exception to my previously published letter. He mentioned the “pipeline” that President Trump opened. Is he talking about the Keystone Pipeline? If he is, that pipeline was never completed. Also, he may not understand that the Keystone Pipeline was being constructed to transport shale oil that was created in Alberta, Canada to the U.S. Gulf Coast. It is well known that the oil was going to be shipped abroad. How does that help our consumers? Why did the Canadians not construct a pipeline across their country and impact their environment?

He mentioned the “videos” that a number of people had that depicted alleged voter fraud in the Presidential election. If those videos were legitimate, why were they not used as evidence in the 60+ court cases that were heard in a variety of courts over the legitimacy of the election? Could it be that they were not credible? If they were, I am sure that they would have been used as evidence. Keep in mind that those 60+ court cases were heard in a variety of courts, in several states and several federal courts. There were a number of Judges who had been appointed by Trump who heard and rejected these cases. The Supreme Court, with a 6-3 Conservative majority and 3 Justices appointed by Trump rejected two of these cases.

Also, one of the key attorneys that represented Trump was one Sidney Powell. She now says that people should not have believed her regarding what she was saying about the election fraud. This was a trusted partner of the former President’s other attorney Rudy Giuliani. Again, where is the beef over the election fraud?
