FRHD announces Community Health Contract Grant awards

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Regional Health District Board of Directors voted to award $991,975 in grant funding to area nonprofit organizations that provide critical health and wellbeing services to the community, Wednesday, June 9.

FRHD began making grant funding available in 1999 when Fallbrook Hospital was leased to a for profit entity. As of this fiscal year-end (June 30, 2021), FRHD will have provided over $12 million in grant funding to date.

The new grant awards for the fiscal year 2021/2022 will be distributed quarterly, with the first payments to be delivered in the first week of July.

FRHD is again grateful to have great partners in promoting the health of the community. The Community Health Contract Grants were awarded to Be Well Therapy, Yoga & Mind/Body Wellness for Cancer Recovery ($8,221.71); Boys & Girls Club, Triple Play and Summer Water Safety Programs ($51,103.75); Champions for Health, Project Access San Diego ($32,000); D'Vine Path, Life I Can Healthy Lifestyle ($21,900); Fallbrook Food Pantry, Alleviating Hunger in Greater Fallbrook program ($77,500); Fallbrook Land Conservancy, Preserve & Trail Walkability Enhancement and Save our Forest Environmental Education Programs ($29,712.50); Fallbrook Senior Center, Congregate Meal

Program and Home Delivered Meal Program ($133,185.75); Foundation for Senior Care, for four programs – Adult Day Care, Senior Transportation Services, Door Through Door, and Senior Care

Advocacy ($217,870.65); a joint applicant from the Foundation for Senior Care and Fallbrook Food Pantry, Seniors & Disabled Adults Nutrition Program ($27,090.25); Hospice of the Valleys, Fallbrook Senior Assistance Program & Butterfly Memorial ($11,218.81); Michelle's Place, Cancer Support Services ($41,908.00); Palomar Family Counseling Services, for their Healthy Body, Healthy Minds and

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren programs ($59,810.20); REINS, Therapeutic Horsemanship Program ($80,453.75).

North County Fire Protection District will also receive $200,000 in grant funded support for ambulance refurbishment, and two shared District personnel (Senior Medical Services Officer and Public

Outreach/Communication Specialist).

Grantees will provide the Health District with Quarterly Impact Reports which are posted on the District’s website for community, https://www.fallbrookhealth.org/community-health-contract-grants.
