California bans travel to 5 more dangerous red states

California has decided to restrict state-funded travel to five more red states, bringing the total to 17. This is partisan politics cloaked in non-discrimination. This action is consistent with this whole new culture of anti-bias and social justice.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta made the announcement partly because the red states are “working to prevent transgender women and girls from participating in school sports consistent with their gender identity.” It was also targeting states that are banning sex change operations for minor children.

They can’t just allow the other states to govern themselves, they have to try and punish them or make the red states more like our blue state. Or, at the very least take the opportunity to make them look like monsters in the court of public opinion through the complicit media.

During the press conference where Bonta announced the decision to ban state-funded travel, the red states were characterized as bastions of LGBTQ discrimination and haters of children. California Senator Low pointed out, “The current culture war is not a game. This is a fight in which our opponents are motivated by fear and hate, even though the LGBTQ+ community has always been about love and inclusion.”

Then another speaker at the press conference further spewed more partisan rhetoric. He said, “Because there are political consultants in the Republican party on the right, who have decided that they think it might be a winning political issue to target trans youth. And when you think about it, what kind of person wakes up in the morning and when they're brushing their teeth and figuring out, ‘what am I going to do today?’ ‘I'm going to target children.’ ‘I'm going to make it harder for children to play sports.’ ‘I'm going to make it harder for children to get health care.’ ‘I'm going to make it harder for children to use the restroom.’ ‘I'm going to tell children they're not who they say they are, but they're just faking it to try to get some sort of manipulative advantage.’ It's outrageous. These are children who are just trying to be who they are and live their lives.”

So our tax dollars pay for our representatives to malign other states, assigning motives of hate and discrimination rather than prudence. Then, the news organizations grab onto the fear, hate and discrimination rhetoric and that’s what’s reported and expanded.

The red states believe they are protecting girls/women’s rights over (transgender rights) who are biological males competing with females. Ultimately this issue is being fought in our courts and the girls deserve for someone to at least stand up and fight for them as well.

Florida Governor DeSantis, after being targeted by the NCAA said, “You can’t be cowed by these organizations, or particularly by woke corporations from doing the right thing,” he explained. “And so my view was throughout this whole time, we have to protect our girls, it is discriminatory to force them to compete against biological males. And so if the price of having a tournament is that I have to deny equal opportunity to hundreds of thousands of young girl and women athletes throughout Florida, I am much more willing to stand with the girls.”

As for the part of Bonta’s assertion that those hateful red states are discriminating against LGBTQ healthcare, it is solely because they are not allowing sex change operations on minors.

There are many healthcare professionals who are against sex change operations on minors. But this isn’t just a cultural, ethical, medical and ethical issue, it’s also big business. In 2014, there were 24 gender clinics, mostly located on the east coast and in California. One year later, there were 40.

According to Dr. Michelle Cretella, who is the executive director of the American College of Pediatricians, there are now 215 pediatric residency programs now training future pediatricians in a transition-affirming protocol (sex change operations) and treating gender-dysphoric children accordingly. She believes gender clinics are bound to proliferate further and in states like California, professionals have to be “affirming.”

According to Dr. Cretella, “Last summer, the federal government stated that it would not require Medicare and Medicaid to cover transition-affirming procedures for children or adults because medical experts at the Department of Health and Human Services found the risks were often too high, and the benefits too unclear. Undeterred by these findings, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health has pressed ahead, claiming – without any evidence – that these procedures are “safe.””

So is it hate and discrimination? Or prudence? Shouldn’t we be more cautious when it comes to children having life-altering, irreversible operations when they legally aren’t even allowed to make decisions for themselves?

The red states are also considering the testimonies of minors and adults who have gone through irreversible operations and regret it. They are considering the mental health of the kids who now say they wish the mental health professional they talked to before their surgery would have challenged them and counseled them, rather than just rubber stamping their idea to live as the opposite sex and simply be “affirming.” The states are also considering the suicide rate.

I read the news from over a dozen news organizations and they all touted the rhetoric from the press conference without reporting the prudence from the red states. It was all about the “recent dangerous wave of discriminatory new bills signed into law in states all across the country.”

And that’s what millions of news consumers are left with, that the red states are haters and discriminators that we need to punish and fight against them.
