Sen. Bates appointed to California Debt and Investment Advisory Commission

SACRAMENTO – The Senate Rules Committee led by Senate President pro Tem Toni Atkins (D-San Diego) has appointed Senator Patricia Bates (R-Laguna Niguel) to serve as a member of the California Debt and Investment Advisory Commission. She will serve on the commission until Jan. 1, 2023.

"It is an honor to serve as a member of this commission to help ensure tax dollars are spent and invested wisely," said Senator Bates, the vice chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee and a former small-business owner. "I look forward to championing the interests of taxpayers and making their voices heard at the CDIAC."

The Legislature created the CDIAC to assist state and local agencies with the issuance, monitoring, and management of public debt and the investment of public funds through its research and technical assistance programs. The CDIAC also acts as the state's clearinghouse for public debt issuance information. Its membership consists of the Governor, the State Treasurer, the State Controller and other officials.

Senator Patricia Bates (R-Laguna Niguel) represents the 36th Senate District in the California Legislature, which covers South Orange County, North San Diego County, and Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.
