A garage fire was reported at 4:25 pm today at 3408 Fairview Ln and Evergreen Lane. The garage fire spread into the attic and NCFPD PIO John Choi said, "There was a pretty good column of smoke that our Bonsall residents would have been able to see, but it was a Vista incident." Vista Fire was the host agency. North County Fire assisted as well as Oceanside, and CalFire San Diego.

Almost as soon as the lightning started to be visible there were multiple ground strikes and a tree that caught fire from a lightning strike in Rainbow at 7:06 pm. The fire spread to a residence outbuilding at 2135 Rainbow Valley Blvd that was handled by North County Fire resources. The fire was fully contained at 7:52 pm.

Another vegetation fire, apparently from a lightning strike on a hillside near Rainbow Glen is being fought presently. The call came in at 7:27 pm and crews are on scene.

Some residents are reported without electricity. More information will be reported as it becomes available.
