FAA to hold workshop on drawing figures

FALLBROOK – Fallbrook Art Association's general meeting will be Oct. 16, 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Crossway Church, at the corner of Reche Road and Stage Coach Lane. Kristina Rice Nugent will do a critique, starting at 9:30 a.m., one painting per person, then she will do a demonstration called, "Learn to Draw the Figure in 45 minutes!" A workshop on figure drawing follows in the afternoon. The cost to members is $40, $50 for non-members. Call Carol Reardon to register for the workshop in advance, 760-221-5577.

Nugent is a Professor Emeritus, MiraCosta College. She has led the Art Department for many decades, where she still teaches Figure Drawing and Painting. Her watercolors and oils have received international awards.

The FAA Open Juried Show take-in at The Gallery, 127 N. Main, will be Monday, Oct. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This show, judged by Richard Stergulz, is open to artists and does not require FAA membership. This show will run through Nov. 13 and all work must be picked up on Nov. 15 at the Gallery, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
