County employees help nonprofit organizations with annual grants

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego County Employees’ Charitable Organization is now accepting applications for 2022 CECO grants. Grant applications must be received by Monday, Nov. 1.

In 2021, CECO distributed $138,519 among 86 local nonprofit programs, including: Alpha Project for the Homeless, Blind Community Center of San Diego, Kitchens For Good, Promises2Kids and Words Alive. CECO grants can be used for tangible items such as equipment, furnishings and other durable goods that directly benefit the population being served by the program. A complete list of prior grant recipients, as well as 2022 grant instructions and application, can be found at sdceco.org.

Since 1956, CECO has funded local nonprofit programs with the mission of lending a hand toward addressing the diverse needs in San Diego. CECO is funded by the generosity of the employees and retirees of the County of San Diego. One hundred percent of contributions are redirected to the local community.

In addition, CECO will be hosting a free virtual "2022 CECO Grants Informational Webinar" on Friday, Oct. 8 from noon to 12:30 p.m. for community members to learn about CECO’s grant application. RSVP online at http://www.eventbrite.com/e/2022-ceco-grants-informational-webinar-tickets-180260192087.
