Prior to the Oct. 22 football game at Fallbrook High School, the Warriors held a Senior Night ceremony to honor the team's 10 12th-graders. The Warriors will likely have one additional home game during the CIF Division V playoffs, although San Pasqual's 28-12 victory may cost Fallbrook a first-round bye.

"They didn't make nearly the amount of mental mistakes that we made, so that's the biggest issue," said Fallbrook coach Troy Everhart.

"We had more false starts than we'd got all season," Everhart said. "We didn't have good eye discipline."

San Pasqual's record improved to 5-4, including 2-2 in Valley League competition, while the loss gave Fallbrook a 3-6 overall record including 1-3 in league play. "They're a good team," Everhart said. "They eat clock. They do a great job."

The Golden Eagles are in Division II for CIF playoff purposes, but Fallbrook took an early lead. Marquise Washington returned the opening kickoff to the Fallbrook 35. "Marquise had a nice little return," Everhart said.

On the next play, Josh McBroom connected on a post pass to Charlie Stallings, who ran into the end zone for the 65-yard touchdown. "We came out swinging," Everhart said.

A mishandle on the snap for the extra point forced a rushing attempt for a two-point conversion, which was unsuccessful. McBroom's first action as a kicker was thus on the ensuing kickoff. "They took the ball, marched down the field," Everhart said.

San Pasqual took approximately eight minutes off the clock before Golden Eagle Noah Snyder scored on a 21-yard run and Saul Guerrero kicked the extra point. "There were numerous opportunities for ourselves to get off the field. We didn't take advantage of it," Everhart said.

An 11-yard run by Danny Davis gave the Golden Eagles a second-quarter touchdown, and Guerrero's extra point created a 14-6 score for the rest of the half. Fallbrook opened the third-period scoring with a 55-yard run by Washington, although the two-point conversion attempt failed. Later that quarter, Snyder ran 27 yards for a touchdown and Guerrero kicked the extra point. Davis threw an eight-yard touchdown strike to Eli Griffin in the fourth period and Guerrero made the conversion kick to finalize the score.

The Warriors close out their regular season tomorrow at Rancho Buena Vista. The CIF playoff seeding and selection meeting is Saturday, Oct. 30.
