FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Blanket Project has donated two blankets to be in a silent auction at the Christmas Store, which is the Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary's annual main fundraiser, at 855 South Main, Suite 1 in the Major Market shopping center. The store opened Nov. 15 and will remain open through Dec. 26. Hours of operation are Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The FAS is a no-kill, nonprofit refuge for dogs and cats. Since its founding in 2002, it has rescued and rehomed more than 4,500 lost and abandoned pets. The sanctuary is entirely dependent on donations and receives no government support. Thanks to FAS, Fallbrook residents have a safe place to take lost dogs and cats or pets they are no longer able to keep. In addition to placing companion animals in new homes, FAS provides education on animal welfare and on the importance of spaying and neutering.

The nonprofit Fallbrook Blanket Project continues to donate knitted and crocheted blankets of all sizes along with hats, scarves, shawls, etc. to local and North County charities and their fundraisers. Anyone interested in joining the group to knit or crochet for others or learn one of these skills is invited to show up to the weekly gathering at Living Waters Church on Reche Road any Monday morning from 10 a.m. to noon or call 314-803-0986 or email [email protected] More information can be found at
