FHS Alumni Picnic is back in the park

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Alumni Association's annual picnic was back, Oct. 17, at Live Oak Park. It has been held every year to say thank you to the members and the community. Last year was the exception due to concerns raised by the COVID-19 pandemic.

An estimated 200 Warrior alumni and their significant others attended this year's celebration which included two centenarians and reunions of classes 1960-62, 1965, 1976, and some members of the class of 1970 who had to cancel their reunion because of travel concerns during the pandemic.

The FUHS Ag Dept. crew catered the tri-tip lunch for those opting for that bonus, and merchants and individuals from the community of Fallbrook again donated an array of gift certificates and goodies for the opportunity drawing. Fallbrook is a generous and welcoming community!

Dessert, the traditional "Forever Warrior" cake, was a big hit with everyone and many photo opportunities included a beautifully "refreshed" Jimbo. He made his appearance decked out in Warrior duds and cool shades in conjunction with Fallbrook's Scarecrow Days.

The hard work of the alumni club members, many called to duty for this event for the first time, resulted in a small profit which will be put to good use in their efforts to support their alma mater. The picnic is not intended to be a fundraiser, but it is always a relief that it continues to "break even" while providing an opportunity to give back and say, "Thank you!"

They look forward to seeing everyone next year on Oct. 16, 2022.
