Spring reopening in store for Palomar College

SAN MARCOS – All Palomar College services at the San Marcos campus and education centers in Escondido, Rancho Bernardo and Fallbrook will resume on-site operation for the spring semester effective Jan. 17, 2022.

Services will be available in person Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., with Friday designated as a virtual office day for departments that operate remotely with a minimal impact on students.

“We are looking forward to safely reopening our beautiful San Marcos campus and three education centers,” said Superintendent/President Dr. Star Rivera-Lacey. “On behalf of the entire Palomar College community, thank you to everyone who has remained patient and collaborative while we addressed the health and safety challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The spring semester begins on Monday, Jan. 31, 2022 with nearly double the amount of face-to-face classes than during the fall semester. The most significant change between the two terms is the availability of face-to-face student services at all of Palomar’s locations. These services include counseling, financial aid, tutoring, and student enrollment and engagement. Information regarding applying to Palomar College and enrolling in classes can be found here, https://www.palomar.edu/stepstoenroll/.

Students and staff who are resuming on-site operations in January will need to have filed proof of COVID-19 vaccination with the college, or have an approved exemption. Daily health check-ins are already in place for all students, employees, and visitors to the Palomar College main campus and education centers, and will continue in the spring semester. Facial coverings are required at all times while indoors, regardless of vaccination status. Those with approved vaccine exemptions will be required to test weekly for COVID-19.
