NCTD announces COASTER schedule for San Diego Padres season

Schedule offers fans a cost-effective and convenient way to get to the games

OCEANSIDE – The North County Transit District announced April 12 the COASTER service schedule for the 2022 San Diego Padres season. The schedule adds 50 trips throughout the season to accommodate weekday and weekend games. The schedule for the full Padres season, including the special COASTER 699 trains that provide northbound service for game times that are not covered by regularly scheduled COASTER service, can be found at https://gonctd.com/maps-schedules/schedules/ under Padres Train Schedule.

The COASTER provides fans with a cost-efficient and convenient way to get to PETCO Park. Northbound trains depart Santa Fe Depot an hour after the final ‘out’ of games that end after regularly scheduled departures, so fans know they always have a ride home.

Parking is free at COASTER stations, and, with the purchase of a COASTER Regional Pass, fans can transfer for free to the Metropolitan Transit System Trolley, which runs every 15 minutes from Santa Fe Depot to PETCO Park. The COASTER Regional Pass can be purchased at PRONTO ticket vending machines on the station platforms.

To make the gameday experience even easier, download the PRONTO mobile app to purchase a pass without standing in line at the station. Each rider must have their own PRONTO card or app to ride. A COASTER Regional Pass is $15 for Adults and $7.50 for Youth and Senior, Disabled and Medicare customers.

Starting May 1, the new regional Youth Opportunity Pass allows those 18 and under with a Youth PRONTO card or account to ride free, making the COASTER a cost-effective way for families to get to the game. For more information about the Youth Opportunity Pass, go to YouthOpportunityPass.sandag.org. (Children five and under ride free when accompanied by a fare paying adult and do not need a youth card.)

NCTD’s COASTER train schedule for Padres games lasts throughout the season.

Fans riding the COASTER should remember that alcohol consumption is not allowed on COASTER trains. Federal law currently requires face coverings to be worn at all times using public transit. Failure to comply may result in denial of boarding or removal.

For more information about riding the COASTER and for the complete COASTER schedule go to GoNCTD.com.
