Boys and girls to benefit from Blanket Project donations

FALLBROOK – The members of the nonprofit Fallbrook Blanket Project continue to be busy crocheting and knitting for others and donating many blankets to various North County charities including the Boys and Girls Club of North County.

For 60 years the B&G Club has been committed to serving the youth in Fallbrook and reaching out to young people in need. As a community based agency, the club offers young people what they need and want most – adults who respect and listen to them and a safe environment where they can have fun and be themselves.

The B&G Club is partnering with the Fallbrook Blanket Project on the club's upcoming Captain's Table Dinner and Auction event Saturday, April 30. Money raised at the auction goes directly toward funding the programs and services that the B&G Club provides to Fallbrook youth.

The club has nine different sites throughout the Fallbrook community where they provide services like homework help, STEM activities and sports programs to over 600 youth every day. For more information contact Brian Astredo at [email protected] or 760-728-5871.

Members of the Fallbrook Blanket Project create one of a kind crocheted and knitted blankets, baby blankets, hats and more for donation to North County charities and their fundraisers. The blankets displayed in the photo, along with several baby sets will be included in this silent auction.

This group is open to anyone who is interested in knitting or crocheting for others and meets every Monday at Living Waters Church on Reche Road from 10 a.m. to noon. Everyone is welcome to come and explore this free group that teaches beginners, and the yarn is free.

To donate yarn, contact [email protected] or call 314-803-0986.
