Gem and mineral society meeting to feature Meg Berry

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Gem and Mineral Society presents Meg Berry's extraordinary gemstone carvings. Everyone is invited to their monthly meeting, May 12, 7 p.m., to hear Berry talk about her carvings and how she carves them.

Berry began her career in faceting in 1975. After studying at Grieger's Faceting School, and at the Gemological Institute of America, she went on to win many awards including 11 AGTA Spectrum Awards.

Lately, she has been combining faceting and carving on the same gem in a freehand variation of concave faceting; she calls this her "Next Level" carvings.

The May meeting will be at the Fallbrook Gem and Mineral Society, 123 W. Alvarado St., on Alvarado Street between Main Avenue and Mission Road. Light refreshments will be available.

Masks are not required if those who are vaccinated, but they are recommended.
