FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Art Center and Fallbrook Land Conservancy kicked off a month-long Celebration of Nature last week with the opening of the center's "Our Natural World" show and the presentation of the newest sculpture at the Palomares House Sculpture Garden. These long-established nonprofits have enjoyed a wonderful history together establishing the nature art show and working together on Fallbrook's Art in Public Places program.
The art show (open daily through May 29) features a wide variety of art created by 25 regional and national artists – paintings, sculpture, photography, ceramics, gourd art and more. There is also a dedicated shop area within the show featuring jewelry, small works, prints, and greeting cards.

In concert with the opening of the "Our Natural World" exhibit at the art center, the FLC dedicated a new sculpture in its newly renovated Wildlife Sculpture Garden at the historic Palomares House, its headquarters, 1815 S. Stage Coach Lane.
Members of the FLC, artists and community leaders viewed the newest addition to the eight pieces of sculpture located in the one-acre garden. "Song Dogs," a bronze sculpture by renowned artist Paul Rhymer that features a coyote and her pup, was presented to the more than 60 people in attendance.
According to Susan Liebes, chair of the FLC, all of the sculptures are placed in an attractive natural environment to honor wildlife native to this part of the country. Among the bronze art are a mountain lion, several birds and a faun. She said that an active acquisition program is in place as the FLC adds to its sculpture collection.
The Wildlife Sculpture Garden has a meandering path that allows visitors to see the wildlife sculptures. The garden is open to the public during daylight hours. For more information, visit https://www.fallbrooklandconservancy.org/.
