Why we need a Community Benefit Program

Our Village has been enhanced over the years by dedicated volunteers and nonprofit organizations who have beautified our community and provided new services much like an incorporated city.

Fallbrook is a unique, unincorporated community lacking local funds and services available to similar incorporated cities, to help improve the community. Fundraising has become more difficult for these volunteers and there is concern over long-term sustainability of their projects such as the beautiful South Mission Road medians, the Sports Park our kids enjoy, our hiking and riding trails, the downtown flower pots on Main Avenue, Vince Ross Village Square, Jackie Heyneman Park – all have become a part of Fallbrook’s charm and character.

Since maintaining and extending these projects is beyond the capacity of our volunteer resources, local community leaders approached the Fallbrook Public Utility District, asking for their help in developing a Community Benefit Program to fund ongoing projects that benefit Fallbrook.

The cost to FPUD ratepayers would be approximately $5 per month, incorporated into water rates, providing a reliable and meaningful income stream to maintain our community jewels. At $60 per year, each of us would be joining all ratepayers to preserve and protect the many unique and life-enhancing features of our community.
