Fallbrook Joe – What a Show!

Last updated 5/11/2022 at 5:52pm

It certainly was a “grand night for singing,” while enjoying the story of Fallbrook Joe and his Magic Caboose! Congratulations to the Fallbrook Chorale and all the friends and neighbors at the SonRise church who, on Saturday May 7, presented this original story in dramatic musical fashion to a great gathering of Fallbrook dinner guests.

I do hope this will not be the only presentation of this dramatic story. I know the cast practiced for more than a year and endured several Covid delays. But the real live show was pitch-and-word-perfect. I was proud to recognize several members of the cast, but had no idea how talented they were!

I have been a keen theater-goer for my whole life. One of my most memorable shows, in the West End of London, was the original production of “My Fair Lady” starring Julie Andrews and Rex Harrison. My fiancé met me at the station with a rose!

So, last Saturday, after watching the Kentucky Derby, I decided to go to this Fallbrook dinner show wearing my rose trimmed hat. The experience shared with so many friendly Fallbrookians was definitely on a par with that evening more than 60 years ago!

Congratulations to Fallbrook Joe and the great Chorale members. Please do this again so that those who missed it this time will be able to enjoy it, too.
