Joshua Padro Bertran Hayek peacefully passed away March 30, 2022, surrounded by his family. Joshua died from complications associated with a recent diagnosis of leukemia.

Sweet Joshie was born in Fallbrook, California March 3, 2004, to John and Linda Hayek. Brothers Aidan, Quinton, and sister Kate miss him dearly. His extended family with whom he spent countless good times is heartbroken, but so committed to celebrating Joshua's life forever.

Josh participated in horseback riding lessons at REINS in Fallbrook from the time he was 18 months old. He was baptized, received his First Holy Communion, and was confirmed at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Parish. He attended Fallbrook schools until 10th grade when he enrolled at Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Orange County. There, Josh pioneered a new program for students with special needs and impacted countless lives on campus. He will be remembered for his smile, his friendly fist bumps, his love for classic rock music, basketball, Flash, and Pizza Fridays.

Services for Joshua were held at St. Peter's and Santa Margarita Catholic HS. Joshua was buried at Mission San Luis Rey. The Hayek family would like to thank this community for their love and support.
