Residents can put on their blue suede tennies, and get ready to walk in the Fallbrook Food Pantry’s End of Hunger Walk-A-Thon from 8:30 a.m. to finish, on Saturday, June 11.

It starts and ends at Trupiano’s at 945 South Main Avenue, at Aviation. Check in time is 8:30 a.m. Start time is 9:30 a.m.

Participants are encouraged to bring the whole family, and to dress up. And bring their dogs in costume. There will be prizes.

The goal of the Walk-A-Thon is to raise awareness of the great need for the Fallbrook Food Pantry, and to raise money to support the efforts of the food pantry. “Ninety-four percent of what the pantry brings in goes back into the community through the food that is distributed. Six-percent goes towards administrative cost,” a spokeswoman explained.

Those collecting pledges can walk for free. Dogs are free and so are children ages 0-5. Adults not collecting pledges are $25 and children 6-15 years of age are $10. Senior adults are $20; students are $15.

Be sure to register online at http://www.fallbrookfoodpantry.org/events by Wednesday, June 8.
