Fallbrook gardens amaze with plants and views

Participants on this year’s Fallbrook Garden Club Garden Tour, held May 14, probably experienced the hottest weather ever for that event at 90+ degrees. Fittingly, for the weather, there were a lot of cacti and succulents at many of the six gardens on the tour. The pleasant surprise was that many of those plants were blooming.

Each garden was unique, some with themes, some with identifying signs for the plants, all well-cared for. They show that the Fallbrook area is a good place to grow just about anything. Many are on hilltops which provide spectacular views of the surrounding areas.

Despite the heat, there was a good turnout and the air-conditioned cars driving visitors up steep driveways to two of the gardens were much appreciated. For those who like to see new ideas for their own gardens, or just admire the work of others, the Garden Tour is worth the effort.
