County wants input on Climate Action Plan

SAN DIEGO – A virtual workshop series for the County of San Diego’s Climate Action Plan Update project is underway for unincorporated areas of the county. If you would like more information as to become involved go to: https://www.sandiegocounty.gov/cap.

This summer, the county is hosting a workshop series to provide examples of strategies and measures to meet the unincorporated county’s vision of an equitable net-zero emissions future. The County of San Diego values your input and wants to learn more about your thoughts on strategies and measures for the CAP Update, the spokeswoman said.

The county is preparing a Climate Action Plan Update to reduce (1) greenhouse gas emissions generated from activities within the community and (2) greenhouse gas emissions generated by County facilities and operational activities throughout the county, including County operated facilities and operations located within incorporated cities. The goal of these efforts is to meet or exceed greenhouse gas reduction targets required by State law and directed by the San Diego County Board of Supervisors.

A spokesman said that last summer, stakeholders in communities throughout the county shared feedback for their vision of an equitable net-zero emissions future.
