SDG&E presents Arbor Day program at La Paloma

FALLBROOK – La Paloma Elementary partnered with SDG&E for an educational tree planting event May 20. Certified arborists/mentors from SDG&E spoke to La Paloma students about the "Right Tree, Right Place" value of Arbor Day, tree care, carbon sequestration, and assisted with instruction for the planting.

All staff and students received a tree to take home and plant. Principal Claudia D'Leon, FUESD facilities staff and SDG&E met and determined 19 different locations to plant 19 trees. Fifth grade students were divided into 10 teams, each with an arborist/volunteer, and helped dig and plant the trees.

Prior to the planting of the trees, there was a signature planting in front of the school that included school administration, members of the Governing Board, and student leaders.

Submitted by Fallbrook Union Elementary School District.
