Members of the Fallbrook Vintage Car Club – who are also members of the Fallbrook Historical Society – showcase several of their vintage automobiles at the historical society's Open House, June 11.
Open House guests include Edward Montes and his wife Helena, and their two children Laura and Julian. The family got a closeup look at the beautiful Brougham carriage, which is one of the most popular exhibits in The Barn at the Fallbrook Historical Society's Heritage Center.
Fallbrook's own Slacker Hill Band provides fun and lively entertainment at the June 11 event.

FALLBROOK – Event organizers Pat Saunders and Leo Romero made sure this year's Fallbrook Historical Society's Open House, which took place June 11, was a big success with something for everyone.
Tours of every museum, a silent auction, entertainment by Fallbrook's own Slacker Hill Band, and delicious offerings provided by Chef Pete Coleman and his wife, April, were just a few of the highlights.
Members of the Fallbrook Vintage Car Club – many of whom are members of the Fallbrook Historical Society – also attended, bringing with them an impressive collection of mint condition vehicles.
Lorena Harris, founding member of the FHS and second-generation Fallbrook native, offered card decorating crafting to the young and young at heart. And FHS members Mary Belton and Clay Kreul staffed an outdoor gift booth, selling T-shirts, photos, postcards and an assortment of other Fallbrook memorabilia.
Besides the main museum, visitors were also provided guided tours of the Heritage Center's Pittenger House, Gem and Mineral Museum, The Ford Room, and the Donald J. Rivers Interpretive Center, also known as The Barn.
"It was a great event, thanks to all those who worked so hard to make this successful," said FHS President Roy Moosa. "Everyone seemed to enjoy our displays, and the Slacker Hill Band was a wonderful addition. We hope this event will result in more visitors to the Heritage Center, and greater interest in our mission to preserve the history of our community."
