FALLBROOK – A free estate planning workshop presented by estate planning, trust administration and probate attorney Andrea Shoup will be offered Saturday, Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1620 S. Stage Coach Lane.

During the presentation, attendees will discover the importance of a living trust, how to avoid probate, how to maximize charitable giving and tax strategies as well as the critical documents they need now. A special Q&A session will follow the presentation. Register to save a seat: https://ctkfb.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/1365800EstatePlanningWorkshop.

If anyone has questions about estate planning and the process they should follow to protect themselves and their family, or already has an estate plan in place but isn't unsure if it's up to date, they can attend this workshop and get answers.

Shoup is an experienced attorney certified by the California State Bar as a specialist in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law. She graduated magna cum laude from California Western School of Law in 2006.

In 2008, she met her future husband, David Shoup, when he was still active duty in the United States Marine Corps. At the time, she worked for the District Attorney's office as a felony trial prosecutor. Fast forward to 2012, when they were married and expecting their first child, Matthew, and all the "what if's" in life started playing in her head.

"What if David didn't come back from that deployment?" "What if something happened to me on these crazy California highways?" What would happen to my son?"

It then became very clear and real to Shoup that she needed to have a plan in place to protect her son if the unexpected happened. She learned all about estate planning and was shocked about what would happen without a proper plan in place. She said, the peace of mind she felt after getting this done was incredible.

It then became her mission to advocate on the importance of having an estate plan. Most people don't realize what will happen when this isn't taken care of and just what is needed to protect their families. She opened Shoup Legal in 2012 and focuses exclusively on estate planning, trust administration, and probate law and helps the families in her community plan today for peace of mind tomorrow.

Shoup enjoys getting to know each client, their concerns, and their wishes in order to tailor a plan to best serve their needs. She takes pride in providing excellent and individualized attention to each client, helping them understand every step of the process. Shoup lives in Murrieta with her husband and their four children.
